There really is no substitute for being in the entrepreneurial trenches yourself – and I have been there. With over twenty years of first-hand business experience in industries as diverse as consumer products, medical devices and finance, I thoroughly understand the challenges and pressures faced when managing a new or emerging business.
I started my first business while in college. Prior to graduation I had already raised one million dollars in venture capital, and at the age of twenty-four became one of the youngest entrepreneurs to ever take a company public. During my years in business, I have structured and raised capital for businesses utilizing affinity groups, private placements, venture capital, the public markets as well as international funding sources. Yet perhaps even more importantly, I have also planned, executed, and managed successful business expansions made possible by both sustained organic growth and through business combinations.
Additionally, I have negotiated and prepared contracts in the areas of employment, distribution and representation, capital formation, buy and sell-side agreements, along with other agreements common to business needs. Lastly, I have navigated conflict and crisis from sources both internal and external to business operations. Through these personal experiences I have become skilled at structuring timely, efficient, and economical interest based solutions capable of minimizing business interruption.
